What is the curly girl method?

In short, the Curly Girl method is a special way to treat your curly hair. It's all about getting your beautiful curls out and avoiding very dry hair or curly hair and instead getting the best in your natural curls. The first step you need to take to use the Curly Girl method and get healthier hair is to make sure all your products are Curly Girl approved. A Curly Girl approved product should be free of a variety of ingredients. It concerns the following:

• Skrappe Sulfater
• Silicone
• Drying alcohol
• Mineral oils

Grunden til, at disse specifikke ingredienser skal undgås, er, at de enten virker udtørrende på håret eller giver en falsk følelse af blødt hår. Skrappe sulfater og alkoholer virker rensende på håret, men har en udtørrende effekt, da de fjerner naturlige og sunde olier fra håret. Once your hair is thoroughly cleaned with your co-wash or low-poo, you should grab your conditioner. A conditioner is used to give your hair an extra care. Let it sit in the hair for a few minutes before washing it out thoroughly.

The final step towards getting your dream curls using Curly Girl products is with your styling products. It is important that you do not dry your hair violently with a towel, but instead gently squeezes the water out of the hair after washing with a microfiber towel or an old t-shirt.
