About Jessicurl - where it all began with a confused teenager and a good idea
Jessicurl is created and owned by Jess McGuinty, a woman with a beautiful and curly hair splendor. However, her hair has not always been this way. Until Jess was 14, she had flat and thick hair. Around puberty, her hair began to curl violently, and when she had no idea how to handle curls, it also became very unruly. Over the years, it resulted in teasing from her friends and classmates, and eventually Jess didn't like her own hair at all.
In 2002, she finally took the bull by the horns and decided that there must be a solution to the unruly curls. It led to several different forums for curls and many attempts at popular curls. Unfortunately, none of them acted on her hair. A search on Google therefore led Jess to a basic recipe for curly hair care. It did not do wonders for the curls, but did pique her curiosity about making her own products. That's why she started experimenting with ingredients that, she knew, were good for curly hair.
It was a fortune that she went this way. The results were absolutely amazing and suddenly Jess was able to control her curls. When she shared her recipe for various forums online, she suddenly found that people would actually pay her to make and sell her hair products - and that's how the first Jessicurl product came to the world. It was called Rockin 'Ringlets Styling Potion. Since then, several products have been added, all made specifically for all types of curly hair, with the primary purpose of helping people with curls around the world to love their curls.
CurlyGirl approved products for all types of curls
No people are alike, nor are there any curls. Fortunately, Jessicurl is for everyone. Whether you have snake curls, soft curls, large curls or maybe a page with curls, Jessicurl has a product that fits the texture and thickness of your curls.
At Jessicurl, they divide their hair into four categories: from fine curls and thin hair to thick hair with small curls. Depending on your hair type, certain products are best suited to highlight the natural curls of your hair. Common to all their products is that they are CurlyGirl Approved. This means, among other things, that their products do not contain:
- Harmful alcohols
- Silicone
- Sulfates
In contrast, Jessicurl Curly products are packed with ingredients that have a positive effect on curly hair. This includes aloe vera, avocado oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil and much more. In addition, their products are 100% free of products containing animal ingredients. Likewise, none of their ingredients have been tested on animals, but in turn on lots of curly hair.
If you are looking for hair products for children, you will probably be pleased to know that Jessicurl also produces products that have no added perfume. Perfume can be irritating to children or people with sensitive skin. In addition, all Jessicurls products are safe to use on colored as well as natural hair.
Start your good Jessicurl routine now and highlight your naturally beautiful curls
Jessicurl has created three different collections. One for thin and slightly curly hair, one for thick curls in need of more moisture and one for dense and small curls. Depending on your type of curls, there are different products that are recommended for your hair routine.
Regardless of hair type and product selection, it is recommended that you wash your hair 2-3 times a week using the following procedure:
- Start by moisturizing your hair thoroughly. Then come your favorite cleanser in the palm, run it well between the palms and spread it out into the hair as if you were to put a ponytail. Make sure to massage the scalp well so that you stimulate the hair follicles. Thoroughly clean the soap afterwards.
- When your wash shampoo is thoroughly rinsed, you take your conditioner. Here it is important that you use a conditioner that gives your curls the moisture they need. Too moisturizing conditioner can weigh down, while too little moisture does not provide the hair it needs to become naturally beautiful. Before applying the conditioner, you "twist" the worst water out of your hair. Then apply 1-2 spoonfuls of conditioner to the palms and apply it to the lengths of the hair. Run your fingers through the hair to distribute your conditioner thoroughly.
Put your hair up in a tub and wait about five minutes. Then run a wide-toothed comb through your hair to remove any knots. Stop cleaning your hair thoroughly. - While the hair is still perfectly moist, Jess recommends taking a little bit Rocking Ringlets in the palm of the hand and tighten it well into the hair to provide sustained moisture. Then squeeze the water out of the hair with one microfiber towel and end with your favorite product to styling.
- Finally, some will choose to use a diffuser, while others would prefer to let their curls air dry. It depends a lot on how defined curls you want to achieve.
Of course, all curls are different, so variations of this routine may be best for you and your beautiful curls. However, this routine is a great place to start when you need to find your favorite laundry routine.
