How best to protect your curls?

If you want to give your curls optimal life, it is important to protect them. But protection means many things. First of all, heat protection is incredibly important if, for example, you dry your hair with a diffuser or make curls with straighteners. Even if you do not heat treat your hair, it is important to protect your hair in everyday life so that it is least affected by daily wear and tear from wind, weather, set-ups and the like. Daily protection includes the way you style your hair, but also how to dry your hair after the bath, what pillowcase you sleep on, and how your hair sits when you go to bed. You can read more about the different types of protection below.

Protect your curls from heat treatment

Where some prefer to let their curly hair air dry to protect as much as possible, others are more for the popular curly hair dryer, a so-called diffuser. This is because a diffuser helps give the curls a more defined look after the bath. In addition, those with very large hair or thick curls may have difficulty getting the curls completely dry. Here, a diffuser is also a great tool for drying the hair in depth.

Here at CurlsForYou, we love the diffuser's ability to provide beautifully defined curls. Unfortunately, too much heat as you know is not good for the hair. That is why we always recommend that you lower the temperature of your blow dryer to prevent the hair from becoming more dry than necessary. In addition, you can use a heat-protecting spray to protect your hair from heat. It is also particularly important to use a heat-protecting product if you would like to do a little extra for the hairstyle and make curls with curling iron or curls with straighteners. Both parts wear a lot on the hair, but fortunately it can be reduced with a good heat protection for the hair.

Protect the curls after the bath

One thing is the protection of the curls during styling and hair drying, another is the daily protection of the hair when, for example, you need to dry the hair after the bath or when you sleep. Let's start by talking about your towel for the hair. It may sound crazy, but it does not matter which towel you wrap around your hair if you want to take good care of the curls. That's because the curls are far more fragile when they have just come out of the bath and are wet. Therefore, it is recommended that you use either a soft cotton towel or one of our popular microfiber towels, which are much softer by the hair.

Take care of your curls while you sleep

Next comes your sleep routines. A good night's sleep is nice for our well-being, but rarely particularly good for our curls. When you lie on the curls, they become slightly flat and dull the following day. In addition, if you sleep on a cotton pillowcase, you risk that the pillowcase pulls all the moisture out of your hair, leaving the curls curly and dry to look at. Therefore, you can advantageously sleep on one pillowcase made of silk or satin, as they do not draw moisture out of the hair or make it static. Would you like to take even better care of your curls and ensure they have plenty of bounce - even after a good night's sleep? Then you should consider investing in one Satin Sleep Turban. If you sleep with such a delicious case, you make sure that your curls are not messed around in the pillow at night, and you will find that your curls are much less frizzy the next morning.

Style the curls with the right products

It's not every day that we can wake up with the perfect, curly mane. Unfortunately. Therefore, sometimes it takes the right styling to get just the curly hairstyle that you dream of. If you just got out of the bath, the first thing you can do to style your curls is to find them with a good diffuser. Here you can take advantage of Root Clips to give the hair even more volume than usual. If you do not need to wash your hair the day you style it, you may want to moisten your hair with a mist spray that will prevent the hair from getting completely soaked but wet enough to accentuate your curls so they can be styled. In this part of the process, using a hair product to highlight curls can also be an advantage. Then we recommend that you complete your styling with a hair product that will make the curls last the day. For example, it can be a gel, foam or hair varnish according to your desired look. You'll find it all on our styling page.

Easy curly hairstyles

If you want a natural look, you just let the curls hang loosely after finding and styling. If you need to do a little extra for the hair, you can also make a hair set with your curls. Should your hair be up or away from the face, you can benefit from hunting in our large selection of hair ornaments and elastic bands, all designed to make it as easy as possible for you to create beautiful curly hairstyles.
